Hi, I'm Mia.
I'm really glad you're here.
I'm a therapist, but I'm also a real person. I believe that the best therapy happens in a real relationship. One where you don't have to perform okayness, filter what you say, or show up as anything other than exactly where you are. My style is warm, direct, and genuinely human and I bring that into every session, with every person I work with.
I became a therapist because I care deeply about helping people reconnect with their own value and learn to work with their brain rather than against it. That belief sits at the center of everything I do — whether I'm working with someone navigating anxiety, depression, chronic illness, or the complicated journey of building a family.
I'm also a mother to three amazing, wild little children. Becoming a mother changed me more than anything else I've experienced and it drew me deeply into perinatal work, which has become a central and cherished part of my practice.

How I work
I show up to every session as a real person. Warm, direct, and genuinely invested in you. My style is conversational — this isn't going to feel like lying on a couch reporting your feelings to someone who nods and says nothing. We're going to talk. We're going to dig in. And we're going to figure out what actually helps.
My approach is active and evidence-based, which means we're not just building insight, we're building tools. Real, practical, usable things you can take into your actual life. I believe deeply in helping people learn to work with their brain, not against it, and in helping people reconnect with their own value. Not performing wellness, but feeling it.
I use an integrative approach that draws on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), CBT for insomnia (CBT-I), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, and mindfulness and self-compassion practices. We'll use what works best for you and leave the rest.

Fully Virtual
My practice is entirely virtual — which means therapy meets you wherever life has you. Your couch, your parked car, a quiet corner of your office, your backyard. No commute, no waiting room, just a secure, HIPAA-compliant space that shows up wherever you need it most.

Background + Training
I hold dual master's degrees in psychological counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University, and I have spent over six years working with individuals in New York City and Portland, Maine.
My clinical experience spans anxiety and panic disorders, depression and mood disorders, chronic pain and illness, and the full perinatal journey — from fertility and pregnancy through birth, postpartum, and early parenthood. I am a certified perinatal mental health counselor (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International, and I have completed advanced training in fertility counseling through the Koser Covington postgraduate program.
The best part of this work, always, is the relationships. People share things with me that they rarely share anywhere else. The sacred, complicated, quietly brave parts of themselves. And every single time, it's an honor.
